Places to Meet Mr. or Mrs. Right

Posted by:

Many people spend their lives looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right. There are a lot of places to look – whether it is churches, online dating sites, bars, or even the workplace. Some of these places are less successful than others, and searching too long can often result in settling for Mr. or Mrs. Right Now. Eventually, you get tired of wasting all your time on people who aren’t looking for something more. If you’re sick of the same old routine, the same old game of cat and mouse, then it’s time to break out of that comfort zone and find some greener pastures.

Gallery Opening

If you’re the artsy type, a gallery opening is a breeding ground for intelligent, sensitive singles. An art gallery may lack the chaotic vibe of a bar, but it has an undeniable energy of its own. More importantly, the environment is conducive to breaking the ice with subtle conversation. Rather than a night club where you can barely hear your own thoughts, a gallery has more of a laid back atmosphere, making it easy to chime in with your two cents about what’s hanging on the walls.

If someone catches your eye ask them what they think of a certain piece, or offer your interpretation of the work. You may be way off, but if you’re honest in your appraisal (and not totally pretentious) you’ll leave wide a window for discussion and an opportunity to get to know someone new.

Volunteer Event

If you’re passionate about your community, a volunteer event is an excellent place to meet a like-minded member of the opposite sex. All around you, every day, are chances to better someone else’s life, whether it is participating in paint-the-town or dedicating a few hours a week to working at a homeless shelter. When it comes to working your game, a soup kitchen may seem like an unlikely place, but for those that truly believe in volunteering, it is a lightning rod for potential romance.

However, you can’t walk into this arena like it’s a single’s event, you really do have to care about the work you’re doing. Your common interests may be the kindling for a roaring blaze, but you’ll douse the flames if your intentions aren’t genuine. Always remember that your service is priority number one and any chance encounter thereafter is merely a beautiful accident.

Take a Class

If you’re a person that loves academia, taking a class is a great way to not only better yourself, but also catch the attention of your peers. Even if considerable time has passed since your last visit to a lecture hall, there is always more to learn. College is one of the greatest times of your life, not to mention one of the most transformative, so why not relive the experience?

In college classrooms around the world are educated, attractive people that want more from life. They’re discussing ideas and forming opinions and constructing a future for themselves through education. When it comes to meeting someone, a classroom is an ideal location. Everyone is usually in close proximity to one another, and collaboration between students is highly encouraged.

But, if college isn’t your thing, keep in mind that learning doesn’t have to be confined to the classroom. Local community centers have plenty to offer those looking for new hobbies. If you have always wanted to try yoga, or give pottery a shot, there are opportunities all around you to not only pick up a new skill, but also make a connection with someone. You never know who you’re going to meet, even if he or she turns out to be nothing more than a study buddy. So get out there, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.

At the end of the day, the best way to meet Mr. or Mrs. Right is to put yourself out there in the world, do what you love and believe in yourself. Don’t feel like you have to fall into the same single’s game because it’s what everyone else is doing. If you follow the vein of your interests it will inevitably lead to someone who loves you for who you are.
