ChristianCafe Video Overview

Recently, I had caught the very end of a TV show discussing ChristianCafe.com. I suppose it would be labeled an infomercial since it’s a half-hour show about one service but it was actually quite interesting. I’m sure it wouldn’t catch everyone’s interest but to a single Christian (or to a guy who writes about online dating in this case), it doesn’t have the feel of watching a long commercial.

ChristianCafe

Instead of the normal infomercial (you know, with people going crazy about how amazingly well a product can chop vegetables or suck up nuts and bolts) this program came off as both honest and interesting. Definitely more “info” than “mercial” from my point of view.

I looked around for the video online to try to watch the rest of it but wasn’t able to find it. I reached out to ChristianCafe.com to see if I could get the video to post it myself and they were quick to help me do so (more than a little surprised by that…previous attempts to contact dating services have been met with silence). Below is the entire program, broken down into two parts.

Part 2:

Thoughts on the Program
I really appreciated that they included both people who had success with the service as well as someone who was still using the service that hadn’t found the “one”. This seemed particularly honest to me as normal marketing seems to dictate that we only include those who have amazing success stories.

I didn’t meet my wife on a Christian dating site but I could really relate to many of the things Sam spoke to in the video. In particular, I was very familiar with the “I was born in the U.S., therefore I am a Christian” mentality. In my situation, I learned to dig deeper than just reviewing what the woman placed as her religion. A big part of why I ended up contacting the woman I would marry was for this very reason: she spoke specifically (and excitedly) about her involvement in her church in her profile.

Having seen the entire program now, my initial impression appears correct – the video was very well made while remaining honest and informative. Hope you enjoyed it as well.

Also, as the video stated, ChristianCafe.com is currently offering additional time for free if you use the keyword CORNERSTONE when you sign-up (I believe the video was made specifically for CornerStone TV if you’re wondering about that one). I’m not sure how long that promo code will last but I would expect for an extended time. Just be aware that if you’re reading this years from now (this is being written in April of 2011) the promo may have ended.

On a side note, I’d also like to recommend Pinnacle VideoSpin if you’re looking for a great free application to do some video editing. Admittedly, I only had to split the video in half and add a few transitions but VideoSpin worked great and I was able to figure everything out just by using the application for a few minutes.
