For the second time Lavalife is having a free email weekend (the first free weekend was back in October). The Free Email Weekend begins Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 12:01am local time and ends Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11:59am local time. This actually provides two-and-a-half days of free communicating.
Lavalife is an open service like Match.com where you can contact any other user as you wish. This is in contrast to eHarmony, which picks your matches for you and is the main service known for giving free weekends. Lavalife has been following suit lately and this is the second time in two months where the service has provided a free communication weekend.
Free weekends at eHarmony are great but in some sense eHarmony is still in control of how many people you’ll be able to contact. If they provide you three matches, you’ll only be able to contact three people (this is why I recommend signing up ahead of time to accumulate more matches). Lavalife, on the other hand, allows you to contact any member so it would be possible to contact dozens of people on a free weekend if you’re willing to work a little harder. Obviously you’ll have to work quickly if you want to avoid paying, but the opportunity is still there.
