Since I started this site a few months ago, I’ve been actively looking for great resources that I could share here. Unfortunately, almost everything I have found online has fallen into one of three categories:

• Overly general advice that feels extremely polished and impersonal. For example, the type of advice I would expect to see in a Maxim magazine (but less humorous). I find it hard to put much confidence into something that reads as if a team of writers tried to figure out what people would want to hear. This type of advice might be valuable to some people but even if it is, I see no reason to redistribute it here when it is so readily available elsewhere.
• A site with great articles that appear promising until you realize you have to buy something to get more than the “preview”.
• Advice that concentrates almost entirely on sex. I don’t feel comfortable offering sex advice but even if I did, there’s just so much of it already, why bother?

Today, though, I finally found a site that offers free and really great online dating advice without requiring that some service be purchased: AdviceFromASingleDatingExpert.com. My only complaint with the site is that it took me so long to find it! I couldn’t agree more with the most recent article on buying flowers for a first date. It is worth a read and it basically states that certain dating customs need to be abandoned as time passes them by. I could have benefited from this article when I first started dating online. At that time, I was obsessed with being as nice as possible. While my intentions were good, my results were not! In the end, I was able to work things out but articles like this would have gone a long way in getting me there sooner.
