Running into someone you know on a dating site

Published on July 10, 2017

Running into someone you know online dating can either be a good thing or a bad thing. For me, it happened to be a good thing. It’s funny seeing people you know online, and thinking why are they single? Other times you might be saying to yourself “I know why you’re single.”

While browsing through the photos online I have come across three people that I know. The one I dated for a short period of time and never want to revisit. Another that I know and consider a friend, but wouldn’t want to date. The last one I came across I met awhile back and we hit it off, but she lives in a different state.  All the same, I decided that I would send her an email to see how she has been. To my delight, she agreed to meet with me, and we have an upcoming date scheduled.

I guess it’s inevitable that we’re all going to run across someone that we know if we do the online dating long enough. It’s just deciding if you would want to reconnect or not. For me the answer was easy. I had made a good connection with this woman already, and she apparently felt the same way.

So after two weeks, I finally have a date lined up and I feel pretty good about it.

Now they say when it rains it pours. I actually have two dates lined up this week. The one date was easy to obtain because we already knew each other. The other date is because I sent out over thirty emails and received one prospect. Now if you want to say I followed Brad’s guide you can, but I was writing to the woman that I really was interested in. I wasn’t writing emails just to try and get a date from anyone. Although I do agree that if you put more effort into writing as many as you can you will have success.

I will keep you up to date on what happens next!
