Several months ago, I had posted the first two videos from Dentyne called The Single Life. I thought the videos were great and captured a lot of the real humor that happens behind-the-screens with online dating.

It seems to me that dating commercials in the UK are far superior to those in the US. Here in the States most of our commercials are either couples talking or black-and-white commercials of a single person sitting or laying and occasionally laughing (and I’m not sure what the point is to these commercials, to be honest). I get the feeling I’m not the only one because I am having a hard time even finding the US commercials online! ...

Funny or Die has a hilarious parody of speed dating. Not sure how they decided on Werner Herzog (whom I wasn’t familiar with) and Bjork but I thought it was great.
I found this image and thought it was great. I suppose many readers may not get this…but then again when World of Warcraft has millions of subscribers I guess more than a few will get it. Another funny parody site along the same lines as PoorMatch.com, here’s Mingle2, a free dating site. I think their main goal here was to drive traffic to their main site so this parody isn’t nearly as funny as PoorMatch.com but it’s still amusing.

While researching other dating sites, I stumbled upon PoorMatch.com. At first glance I thought I must be reading something wrong…but then I realized it was a big online dating parody. A really, really funny parody at that (we’re talking The Onion kind of funny). If you’re frustrated due to online dating, check out Poor Match for a few laughs to lighten the mood. Every page has great jokes, some that are harder to spot than others.
