Guy Winks at Me but Won’t Respond to my Emails

Posted by:

The way Match.com works can sometimes create confusion for subscribers. In this case, a woman receives a wink from a man and she’s interested so she emails him back…then he doesn’t respond! What’s up with that? Here’s an example from a reader:

Hi, I have received a wink a couple of months ago from a match guy. He also made me a favorite and “liked” my pictures. I winked back and sent him a note thanking him. No response. A month ...

Dating Someone when the “One that Got Away” Comes Back

Posted by:

Many months ago, I worked with a reader on a struggle he was having with a woman he was talking to. As much as he worked to gain her interest, she never fully returned it. She would go on dates or communicate, then disappear. Or she would seem interested only apparently lose that interest in him a week later. Eventually she stopped responding and while hurt, he did get over her.

I talked about this type of situation in my ...

When Someone You Want to Date Repeatedly Loses Interest

Posted by:

Many of us have been in this situation: you start to talk with someone and may even begin to date, but then they disappear. No more calls or texts and no explanation on where they went. Then out of the blue, they contact you again as if everything is fine and the cycle repeats itself.

I’ve seen people give up all other opportunities just to repeatedly wait on someone who isn’t fully committing and I want to talk about that here.

Are ...

Recovering from a First Date Blunder

Posted by:

There are times where a first date is going great. The two of you are finding a lot in common. Then you say something to be funny or without much thought and realize you’ve offended your date. Suddenly the mood changes and your odds of a second date go from almost-guaranteed to non-existent. So how do you handle this situation?

First off, in my last article I pointed out that many people are overly-critical of themselves. What I’m talking about ...

Avoiding Being Overly Critical of Yourself on First Dates

Posted by:

How do you respond when you think you’ve made mistakes on a first date? Do you think you’re “bad” at first dates? I find many people think this but in reality, they are doing fine.

I get regular emails discussing bad first dates and the desire to recover from a mistake on a first date. However, as I mention in the linked article, a fair amount of the emails I receive are from people who think they totally failed and ...

Safely Dating Multiple People on Match.com?

Posted by:

Some of my most popular articles are in regards to women who are struggling to get the man that are dating exclusively to take their Match.com profile down. This is driven in part because Match shows the last time someone was active and will also show when they are currently online.

For most of the cases in the article mentioned above, a man and woman have committed to date each other exclusively but then the guy won’t take his profile ...

Top 5 First Date Ideas

Posted by:

Planning where you’ll meet for your first date can be challenging, especially early on in your online dating experiences. For me, early on I thought every date needed to be an all-out affair with a very nice dinner and some activity afterward.

As I started to have success and was going on multiple first dates a week, my bank account just couldn’t keep up with my dating life! Because of this, I began to suggest simpler dates, often just meeting ...

Two Free Events for the Weekend: August 16th, 2013

Posted by:

This weekend there are two free events happening: one for eHarmony and another for Chemistry.com.

The eHarmony event runs from Thursday, August 15th and ends at the end of the day on August 18th. eHarmony has been providing a LOT of free time in 2013. There have been at least 10 free weekends/events this year that I’m aware of (one every month and some months with two events). The frequency is very good for those of us who want to test ...

Should You Date an Older Woman?

Posted by:

It’s probably a safe bet that most men have considered dating an older woman at some point during their lives. Whether it’s a fantasy that started during their teenage years, the thrill of having uninhibited sexual experiences with a more experienced teacher, or a genuine attraction and meeting of minds, age-defying partnerships are on the increase.

In fact, dating an older woman has never been more ‘trendy’. With sexy sirens like Madonna, Demi Moore, and J-Lo proving that forty really is just ...

The free weekends at eHarmony are happening more and more frequently…this is the second free weekend this month. The last free weekend was also a full 5-day free event so this means eHarmony is now providing their service for free for 9 full days in July.

At any rate, this free weekend runs from Thursday, July 25th to Sunday, July 28th 2013 and is open to both residents of the US and Canada.

eHarmony Free Communication Weekend, July 4th to 8th 2013

Posted by:

eHarmony is having a free weekend starting on July 4th and running until the end of the day on July 8th, 2013. This continues eHarmony’s recent pattern of providing free weekends on US holidays, which is great considering they are giving free time on their dating site when many of us also have more free time to use it (this free weekend is only for the US, by the way). It also continues the approach of giving extended ...

Places to Meet Mr. or Mrs. Right

Posted by:

Many people spend their lives looking for Mr. or Mrs. Right. There are a lot of places to look – whether it is churches, online dating sites, bars, or even the workplace. Some of these places are less successful than others, and searching too long can often result in settling for Mr. or Mrs. Right Now. Eventually, you get tired of wasting all your time on people who aren’t looking for something more. If you’re sick of the same old ...
