eHarmony Australia: Save 69% on 3 Months

Posted by:

eHarmony Australia is having a promotion where you can save almost 70% on a three month subscription. The total for three months with this promo is $59.85, which is pretty close to what the one month plan normally costs. This savings is available from January 21st to February 1st, 2015.

To take advantage of this promotion, you can enter the promo code AUSDAY2015 when you check out.

In the US, eHarmony often offers savings and free weekends on the US holidays. It looks like a similar approach is taken in Australia as well since this promotion runs over Australia Day (if you’re like me and didn’t know about this holiday, then the eHarmony promotion probably doesn’t apply to you! But you can learn more here about the holiday if you’re still interested).

eHarmony is one of the few online dating services that frequently offers free time and promotions like this. I think this is a good thing because eHarmony is considered expensive compared to some other services, but it’s also a great service. I think that giving people a chance to try the service with deep discounts or free weekends is pretty important in that it gives a lot of people the chance to see how the service would work for them when they might not otherwise sign up.

In many cases, such as my personal case, people will sign up for eHarmony for just one month. This is actually a much more expensive way to do things over time. If you subscribe for three months and pay for it one month at a time, you spend far more money than if you signed up for a three-month subscription. Having done this myself, I do understand why people do it. We think, “If I have success right away, I don’t want to waste money!” Or we might alternately think, “If I hate the service after one month, I don’t want to waste money on the other two months.” And those aren’t unreasonable ways of thinking about things.

However, the truth of online dating is that:

  1. Popular dating sites tend to be very high quality. You may not like your results, but it’s unlikely you’d hate the service in my experience.
  2. While it’s nice to think you could meet someone right away, and it does happen, generally speaking finding that special someone in your first month using a dating service isn’t likely.

So the risk of signing up for three months seems real to many people, but in reality I think most of those people end up spending more money going month to month. And that might sound depressing but I think it’s true…and I’d recommend my online dating guide if you’d like more of my thoughts on this.

All of this is really just a long way of saying that I think with this promotion you get the best of both worlds: you get the opportunity to sign up at the cost of one month but the time of three months. It’s a great opportunity for anyone curious about trying out eHarmony.
