New eHarmony Activity Feed

Posted by:

eHarmony has recently introduced a new activity feed which allows you to quickly see what is going on within your eHarmony account. This activity feed operates similarly to something you would expect to find in Facebook: it allows you to quickly see any updates or activities that have happened as well as tracking your recent communication exchanges.

This activity feed will be based on four different areas:

  • Who’s Viewing You to see the matches that are reviewing your eHarmony profile
  • Communication Events which displays recent messages you have received
  • Updates to Profile text to alert you of when you can review changes to your matches profile
  • Updates to Photos to alert you of when one of your matches has new photos to check out

new eharmony feature

OK…But Why Should I Care About This?

I realize this may seem like a trivial change but it isn’t and here’s why: now when you update your profile or change your photos, all of your matches are are going to be alerted. This could be a good or bad thing (depending on what you’re doing) but either way it is something you’ll want to be aware of.

This change could be a great thing because when you add photos or change your profile your matches will be alerted and if they might decide to give you another chance if for some reason they decided they didn’t want to start the communication process with you.

However, if you’re the type of person who is constantly updating tiny details of your profile to get it just right you will also want to keep this new feature in mind. Announcing that your profile has changed to all of your matches every day could have unintended results…especially if you’re not taking that this is happening into account.

I’m so glad I found your blog! I did not realize this was a feature as my Ipad doesn’t show the activity feed. I’ve had trouble getting photos posted and they often don’t look as good as I think they will. I then deleat them and post another one. I’m afraid now, this appears as if I am neurotically uploading and deleting photos. So my question is, if I upload a photo and delete it within 5 to 10 minutes, is this photo still showing up in that activity feed? I do not like this feature at all. Thanks so much for your help!

I suspect it does show up on the feed, but at the same time I don’t think you should worry about it too much!

I am curious, if I check out a man’s profile, and then look at it again a few minutes later, or the next day, does the activity feed tell him every time?

No, it shouldn’t show multiple times in one day. So you could view it 10 times and it would just show one time in the feed.
