I'm also one of those select few (according to my research, not that few, as 25% of people that fill out the profile aren't compatible with their membership) that didn't/wasn't able to utilize eHarmony. Other complaints I found were the high cost, lack of matches (they would either have many or go months with few or none) and the inability to tell who is an actual paid member and who's "just checking it out". The 'success story' people on eH's facebook fan page tell people to "be patient" or "expand their search settings', but if I haven't had any correspondence with any member in months, why sign up for a year or two (one guy had been on for five years with nothing to show for it). Also, some people can't just meet someone from the next state or the other side of the country, but the 'success story' folks will opine "if I didn't change my settings, I would have missed on on the love of my life." Just get bad vibes from eH.

I've downloaded the Eharmony android app and been matched with several interesting soimdimg women. (Pity I can t see their photos yet!) I haven't upgraded to a paid subscription yet-mainly because this can't be completed online from the app but requires a phone call to customer service. I really think I will phone to upgrade soon though-the matches seem to be more serious about having a real relationship than on other sites I've tried. I've been on a few dates with women I've met on other sites only to be told they're not really looking for a relationship. Why pay for a woman to dine with me an expensive restaurant if she's "not really looking for a relationship?" I get the feeling Eharmony's members would be unlikely to use this excuse-it would sound completely lame when meeting via a 'serious' dating site like Eharmony seems to be!

Dave, this is a pretty big complaint against eHarmony. They're argument is that they'd rather not have you pay for their service if they feel they can't match you appropriately (or something along those lines). I realize it's irritating but at the same time at least they're honest about it...

The thing that irritated me about eHarmony is actually a big one.
After answering all the questions in their matching system, it said my personality could not be matched using their system.
As a result I can not use their service even to browse.
